Evergreen Vs Timely Content
Content can be evergreen or it can be timely.
Evergreen (like the tree) will stay relevant at any time - and it’s great to have a library of this as a resource to point to. Maybe it’s a showcase of the capabilities of you and your team, maybe it’s a case study, an office tour or a brand story video.
All that information is important 365 days a year.
So why should you make timely content?
Well, it rides the wave of public interest. It’s in the zeitgeist and SO. HOT. RIGHT. NOW.
Cultural or commercial events are a great post to tie your content wagon to. It can be Black Friday, Cyber Monday or End Of Financial Year or Christmas trading related. Or it could be more cultural motivated and aligned with the values of your company - International Women’s Day, RUOK day or anything else that is of authentic relevancy to your brand.
By making timely content, you contribute to the conversation and leverage the other conversations surrounding it.
We LOVE producing timely content - a big one for us is Christmas and End of year videos. We also support a lot of organisations championing causes we love like IWD and Pride month.
